Whats up guys. I know I've been gone for a while, whats it been like two years now? Well I've been having some trouble with the Internet Association of America. Apparently they can't stand the fact that my site was doing so well before. Well anyway we are back up and live and I would like to share with you guys some photos of my vacation in California. Check them out. These photos span from my time in Los Angeles to San Francisco. If yo recognize any of the places just leave a comment below I'd be glad to talk to you!
There comes a time . .
When old things become . . Old. Then a time arises when new things begin to show themselves. Its almost. . Day and Night. There comes a time when a ball player has to change the move he's use to making. Its become to obvious. When an artist has to switch the brush in which he paints his canvas with. He finds the stroke to be more effective. There comes a time where a writer has to manufacture a new style of writing. The old style fails to convey his thoughts. New things. . Then become old. . Its madness isn't it? So I'm sittin here at a wedding in what seems to be Uniondale, Long Island. I can honestly say that I am bored. But throw that in the trash can. I want to talk about thw simplicity of this wedding, and how well it is working together.
Who would actually be smart enough to throw a reception in the same room as the actual ceremony. Saves a lot of driving for people. I'm sure we all know how weddings can be a little too much. Its here for the ceremony, then there for the pictures, then there for the reception. Talk about work, shessh. This here is perfect though. Not a soul complains about anything. Even though it may not have the flash and frills of an extravagent wedding, its perfect for the people in it. Yesterday , while walking through the city I almost caught myself saying its too hot. Its weird to me because 2 months ago I was complaining that i lt was too cold. Wete never satisfied us humans are. When its cold we want it hot when its hot we want it cold. We want it perfect , but its never going to be that way. It spills into our everyday life to. We dont want somebody to be to nice , but we dont like it when they are to mean. We dont like our drinks to cold , but we don't want them to warm either. Will there come a day when we will be 100 % satisfaction. Me personally, i don't think so. As long as things can get better , we will strive for the better.
Today was today.
Tommorow will be Tommrrow. Tommorow's sorrows don't affect me today. Thats why today is today. Today lessons were learned Tommorow the lessons learned today are thrown. Then the sorrows of the next day Makes us reminisce about today. We don't care today. We worry tommorow. Therefore we don't care about the worries from yesterday. Because the sorrows of yesterday don't affect me today. AmispeakingEnglish ? Shes bold . .
She shines bright . . An attention grabber even when she does not want it. Shes different from the rest . . I find something new about her everyday Sometimes I hate her Sometimes I love her Sometimes I'm addicted to her She never loves me back . . I can change but she stays the same She can be . . Rambunctious Cultured Peaceful Tough as Nails But then shes mysterious in a way. She has me . . She has me forever . . From Queens to Brooklyn , to Manhattan the G5 Army was at it again. This time we were shooting the 89 Crack video. We began at Mary Immaculate Hospital rapping in front of the old abandoned hospital. With a big white sign with red letttering saying NO TRESPASSING ! But who reads signs nowadays lol.
After that scene we jumped in the car and headed to Brooklyn. The Crown Heights section more specifically. Shot some scenes in the couryard of a housing complex. Headed over to Williamsburg to the pier , shot some nice scenes over by the water. Then we made our way to Chinatown. Got a few scenes then LES and that was a wrap. If you ever heard Lifes a B***h by Nas & Az you should know this line. "The buck that bought the bottle could of struck the lotto". I like this line alot.
Think of the"buck" that Nas is talking about as time. Martin Luther King once said that time is neutral. It is neither good or bad. It can be used constructively or destructively, it depends on the individual. Some people use their time constructively, they may be educating theirselves with a book , or creating through art, or anything else in that nature. Some people are destructive with their time. Things like "playing the block" all day , or watching tv all day , any inactivity is destructive in my opinion. Nas in this lyric uses his "buck" to buy a bottle of liqour. This is a destructive use of his "buck". However since the "buck" is neutral being neither good or bad Nas decided that the same "buck" or dollar that he used to by the liqour could have gotten him a winning lottery ticket. So how are you using your time ? Are you using it constructively or destructively. Are you getting drunk with the same dollar that you could have been using to make you rich ? It all comes down to you and your choice. Choose wisely my friends . Monday afterschool you can jump on the uptown A. Get off at West 4th and transfer to the F train to 2nd ave. Exit the train station , walk down first ave , and make a right on . . . Well i dont remember the street but if you make the correct turn then walk down 2 blocks you'll find a spot called the Nuyorican Poets Cafe.
On monday nights the mic becomes a blank page in an open book. Your free to come and express whatever is on your mind. Whatever captivates you, or pisses you off. You rap ? Cool. You write stories ? Cool. You a comedian ? I hope your funny. Nonetheless Cool. The spot is well lit , the stage is the hotspot , if you on it you got 5 minutes. 5 minutes to be you without censure. Theres one time I witnessed a woman get on the mic just to rampage about her neighborhood being taken over by white people. She screamed "I dont know where you came from , but you need to get the F**k back over there" It was quite overwhelming, deserving of a standing ovation.I never seen that woman again after that night. You can find a long line on the outside of the cafe. It stretches nearly the whole block. Listeners , performers , possible talent scouts disguised as civilians. Poets in their most natural form , the mind in its most relaxed state , the body responsive to what the mind intakes. That just ryhmed , but i aint no poet or nothing dont get me confused. But the cafe is not the thing that gravitates me every monday night. Theres something about that side of town. The graffiti murals , the history forever embedded into the pavement. It seems as if the spirits of the past take trips down memory lane during the night, and rest their heads during the day. I can imagine them, young like us , running through the blocks of the lower east side. True City Kids. That what they take pride in. Being true city kids. Well , God Bless Em ! God Bless The Good Lower East Side of Manhattan. One Love |
